Changed Lives

“LifeHouse has been a life saver for me. When I moved to Paragould I was pregnant with my fourth child and I didn’t know anyone or know of any resources. I remember the day that I met the director of LifeHouse ‘Shawn’ at  the Dollar General. I went to LifeHouse and a volunteer explained the leap program to me and I immediately thought thank God because I didn’t know how I was going to buy any of the things that my unborn child needed and LifeHouse made it possible. Because of that chance meeting I was now able to get the vital information from the parenting videos that were beneficial to me as well as diapers and wipes. I would not only learn the proper way to care for my children but also provide my baby with the essential things that she needed. I remember when I was about 8 mos pregnant and could not fit any of my clothes. I remember feeling so stressed because I was toting around this huge stomach and could not cover myself properly. The next day donations came in and I was able to get proper clothes, I remember feeling a sense of relief like the world had been lifted off of me. Now I could feel beautiful and not worry about what people were saying about my clothes. When my children were growing out of all their clothes again I was able to get clothes from LifeHouse. It was so hard try to provide for three children as well as a newborn with no income. LifeHouse has been a saving grace for me. LifeHouse has provided me with the skills as well as the confidence to be the best Mother for my children. I no longer feel as though I am inadequate as a mother. So you asked me what life house has been to me and now you know LifeHouse has been all the above.” Jermeal

“I am here to let people know what the LifeHouse has done for me. When I started going to the LifeHouse, I was going through a lot of problems. I was dealing with sexual abuse from a family member when I was young, misunderstanding with my mom, the death of my step dad, problems with my oldest child’s father, and most of all, an abortion when I was 15 or 16 years old. But, with the help of the LifeHouse, I was able to work past all of it with counseling and just talking to the staff. They also let me know that when I asked God to forgive me and hand over my past to Him, He had forgiven me and that I should leave it with Him. It is hard, but when you do that, you feel a lot better as a person and your family life is better, too. I want to take this time to thank the staff and Kim, the Pregnancy Help Center Director, for being there for me; I know that they are there when I need them.” -Melissa

“To Whom It May Concern: A little over a year ago I came into your facility wanting a child (I have a stepson, but wanted one of my own) but felt unworthy because of an abortion when I was out in the world before I found the Lord again. I spoke with one of your counselors and prayed and literally the next day I conceived. The Christian counseling and praying allowed me to forgive myself, therefore God forgave me and I now have a beautiful, healthy 3 1/2 month old daughter. Thank you! May God bless you all! I now live in Kennett, MO and they don’t have a program like this – I feel as if I’ve been called to do so. Help me pray! Love in Christ, Kim”

“My name is Brandi. I recently completed the Life Skills Program at the LifeHouse Ministries. The Life Skills Program has given me an edge on my hope and dreams. I had an idea of what I wanted when we started the program, but Life Skills gave me hope on how to go about getting it properly. I learned how to properly fill out a job application, how to build a resume, and how to ‘cold call’ a job. Another thing I learned were the ‘do’s and don’ts’ of applying for a job and how to budget my finances and time. I also learned God’s way of shepherding my children. It’s an awesome class. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to straighten out her life, to be a better person, parent and someone society accepts.” Brandi

My name is Ana Gutierrez. I have been coming to LifeHouse for one year now. Coming here has helped me a lot. How they have helped me is, that problems  are going to come and go. The people from LifeHouse has taught me about Jesus, that I have to let him inside of me. Another thing I want to thank Sam and Brittany because when I was having problems with my marriage and wanted to get a divorce they taught me about Jesus and they also helped me pray and showed me how to do it. They helped me realize that I can’t just run from my problems without talking about them first. Now thanks to them my marriage is saved. Me and my husband are doing so good and were trying to work things out not just because of us because we have four wonderful kids that we adore. I’m so glad that God put these girls in my way because I’m pretty sure that if I had not met Sam and Brittany that I would have done something that I would have regretted. I know that whenever I need an advice or have problems I can always come to the LifeHouse and they will help me in anyway that they can. I also want to thank everyone at the LifeHouse because when I was pregnant with my fourth child they helped me a lot. I got everything I needed for my baby with them; also with our other three children they have helped me with diapers. I’m glad that they are apart of me now. I respect these girls and I know everyone that gets the chance to know them that they will have respect for them just like I do. I’m glad that I started coming to the LifeHouse cause I have learned a lot about Jesus. Thank you Sam, Britt, and Shawn for helping me and my family with anything we need. I also want to thank you girls for coming into my life. I don’t know what I would have done without your advice. Thank so much LifeHouse Ministries.

Thank you,

The Gutierrez Family

My name is Felicia Ann Goerzen. I am 23 yrs old. I’m currently living at home again, trying to raise my 3 kids. My oldest Madisyn is almost 6, then comes Kaylie who is 2 ½, my youngest Aaden is 10 months. I have been struggling now for almost 2 years. I started coming to LifeHouse in January of 2009. I was pregnant and I had nothing for my baby. I came up and Samantha was the first one I talked to. She was so kind and sweet. At first I came 2-3 times a week and watched videos to earn leap dollars. If you scheduled an appointment ahead of time, or if someone watched it with you, you get an extra leap dollar. I came 2-3 times a week for about a month to get caught up with what I needed and then I started coming 1 a week. They had so much stuff. I got tons of nice clothes, diapers, wipes, and even stuff that I didn’t need. I got a swing and a toddler bed for cheap too. All I had to do was play a small deposit, sign a paper and it was all mine, until he didn’t need it anymore, then I brought it back. If your baby is still on formula or baby food they will help you with that. My boy goes threw a lot of formula a month and they’ve never turned me away. Right now I am broke. I do not work, we only have one check coming in and its barely enough to pay bills. LifeHouse has helped me out so much. One day I had to call and cancel my appointment because my youngest daughter was sick and in the hospital. So Sam made me a care package, it had a humidifier, it had medicine in it, it also had wipes, and some personal hygiene things like deodorant and tooth brushes and toothpaste.

Since I am still so unstable, LifeHouse lets me do a trade in. I bring clothes that my two youngest grow out of and I trade them in for clothes my son can wear. I now bring all my baby gear up here and donate it, because I want to give back since they have helped me so much. They also are good at listening to your problems. There has been so many times that I have come for an appointment trying to keep it together and not fall apart, but Sam always knows when something is wrong and I just break down to her, after words I feel so much better, her advice is good to. She taught me to pray more often and God will answer my prayers. Since I have been praying I can see how happier I am. I have now been coming for a year, and if it wasn’t for LifeHouse I probably wouldn’t have my son. I would probably gave him up for adoption because I couldn’t have had what I needed to take care of him. LifeHouse has changed me in so many ways. I am very grateful.

The first time my husband and I went to LifeHouse was 7 years ago when we were expecting our first child, a boy. We got to see videos about caring for babies and how to protect them. We were able to save up our leap dollars and get a lot of stuff at once. We went there for a year. Six years and two more children later we started going again. They have been a big help to us because we have two children in diapers.  The one thing is now you only use leap dollars for diapers. The one thing is now you only use leap dollars for diapers and wipes. We no longer have to save up a lot of them if our children need clothing.

My husband and I have been coming here for 2 months.  LifeHouse has helped us in so many ways in our own personal lifes with parenting and marriage-they have helped us come a long way especially Kim and Robert (CFF) they’ve always been there listening and helping us no matter how long it took they sat and listed and helped us get to the of of it.  They truly are blessings to us and our family.  They helped with arms wide open.

Sky Williams:  Being a first-time mother, the ministry programs have helped me learn a lot about successfully raising my son through faith in Jesus Christ. I didn’t know a lot about being a good parent, but the videos and DVD’s have been so helpful to me. I learn something new from each one of them. I enjoy coming each week, because I feel so welcomed. The staff is super nice. The volunteers are always nice. I am grateful for the support I have received since January 2011. LifeHouse gives me and my husband an opportunity to learn about parenting and how to be a better parent to our son. I really don’t know what I would do sometimes if this ministry wasn’t in this area. I feel very blessed for the services I receive.

Tessa Lancaster:  I started coming to the ministry this year in February. It is a wonderful program. I know some people wouldn’t have anywhere to turn for help if it weren’t for LifeHouse. The only service I personally need is assistance with diapers, because there are days that I can’t afford them. To me, LifeHouse is a lifesaver.

Hattie & Saylor Ethridge:  How can I put this? The ministry has been one of the best opportunities in mine and Saylor’s life since June 2011. I can’t thank you enough for the services and help that we receive from the baby products, diapers, clothes, love, and advice. Being a single mom with no help, I have learned a lot from the videos. I like to tell my friends and family that I couldn’t have done some things without the help of ministry. Thank you for everything!

Megan & I’yanna:  I’m thankful for the help that LifeHouse is able to provide for my five-month old daughter, I’yanna. I am the only one that works in my home so the diapers, wipes, baby food, and baby wash helps so much since my first visit in January of this year. The videos answer a lot of my questions so I don’t have to ask them. We are very blessed to have this place with the very nice staff to help us. I don’t know what I would do without the program.

Mariah:  I am very thankful for LifeHouse, and the assistance they provide. The videos are very educational, and it gives me a lot of useful information on how to raise my son. I also appreciate the friendly and welcoming staff. I started receiving services from the ministry in March.
